How it works

We show whether a domain is on public security lists. We don't analyse the page content.

1. Public lists

The domain is looked up in three independent lists of phishing, malware and scam domains. The lists are downloaded to your browser, so the list providers never see what you check.

2. DNS security filters

We ask four independent DNS services with malware and phishing protection (Cloudflare, DNS4EU, Control D, CleanBrowsing) whether they block the domain. Family filters are shown separately and don't affect the risk level.

3. Extra signals

  • Domain age (RDAP, where the registry publishes it)
  • Popularity (Tranco top 1 million)
  • Imitation of banks, couriers, state services and big brands
  • Short links are expanded first
  • For email: disposable address, mail servers, DMARC
